Als der "Netzwerk-Kleber" übernimmst Du eine entscheidende Rolle im reibungslosen Betrieb unserer komplexen und automatisierten WAN- und Core-Infrastruktur, die über fünf Rechenzentren deutschlandweit verteilt ist. Du orchestriert unsere Netzwerkkomponenten so, dass eine robuste und leistungsstarke Infrastruktur jederzeit sichergestellt wird. Gemeinsam mit einem Team aus SysEleven Netzwerk- und Datacenterexpert:innen fungierst Du als Ansprechpartner:in für Kolleg:innen aus verschiedenen Teams und unterstützt sie aktiv bei Bereitstellung einer hochverfügbaren Cloud Infrastruktur. Du musst (noch) kein Senior im Titel tragen – wichtig ist, dass du bereit bist, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und dich in einem komplexen Infrastrukturumfeld weiterzuentwickeln. Neben den täglichen Aufgaben willst Du selbstständig an der Weiterentwicklung unserer Netzwerkinfrastruktur mitwirken und Deinen Fußabdruck hinterlassen.

Aufgaben

Verantwortung für Design, Betrieb und Weiterentwicklung der Core-Netzwerk-Infrastruktur (z. B. Backbone, Routing Core, Rechenzentrums-Interconnects) in enger Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Infrastrukturteams
Unterstützung bei der Konsolidierung des Cloud- und Netzwerk-Stacks durch Architektur- und Designarbeit sowie Auswahl und Implementierung geeigneter Hardware- und Softwarekomponenten
Erstellung und Pflege umfassender Dokumentationen für die Netzwerkinfrastruktur, einschließlich Netzwerkdiagrammen, Konfigurationsanleitungen und Betriebsrichtlinien
Administration und Troubleshooting der Netzwerkressourcen, einschließlich Konfiguration und Überwachung von Switches, Routern, Firewalls und Load Balancern, sowie Behebung von Netzwerkproblemen und -ausfällen
Teilnahme als Ansprechpartner:in für Netzwerkthemen an der Rufbereitschaft nach der Probezeit ausschließlich für den Netzwerkbereich (extra vergütet)

Anforderungen

Sehr gute Erfahrung mit dynamischen Routingprotokollen (OSPF, IS-IS & BGP)
Erfahrung im Produktivbetrieb mit gängigen Network-Produkten und deren Konfiguration wie z.B Juniper, Arista und/oder Nokia
Tiefgehende Kenntnisse über Netzwerktopologien und Core-Infrastrukturen, insbesondere Netzwerkarchitekturen wie MPLS/VPLS, VXLAN, IPv6 sowie Rechenzentrums-Interconnects
Vertrautheit mit Firewall- und Load-Balancer-Anbietern sowie deren Implementierung und Verwaltung
Idealerweise Erfahrungen mit dem Einsatz von CD/CI Pipelines und Umsetzung von GitOps Ansätzen im Netzwerkkontext

Your mission

As the “network glue,” you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our complex and automated WAN and core infrastructure, which spans five data centers across Germany. You will orchestrate our network components to maintain a robust and high-performance infrastructure at all times. Together with a team of SysEleven network and data center experts, you will serve as a point of contact for colleagues across various teams, actively supporting them in delivering a highly available cloud infrastructure. You don’t need to have “Senior” in your title—what matters is your willingness to take responsibility and grow within a complex infrastructure environment. In addition to your daily tasks, you’re eager to contribute independently to the ongoing development of our network infrastructure and make a lasting impact.

Your tasks

Responsibility for the design, operation, and ongoing development of the core network infrastructure, including backbone, routing core, and data center interconnects, in close collaboration with other infrastructure teams
Support in consolidating the cloud and network stack through architectural and design work as well as the selection and implementation of appropriate hardware and software components
Creation and maintenance of comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and operational policies
Administration and troubleshooting of network resources, including the configuration and monitoring of switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as resolution of network issues and outages
Participation in on-call duty for network-related topics after the probation period (with extra compensation), limited to the network domain

Requirements

Extensive experience with dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP
Hands-on experience operating and configuring common network products such as Juniper, Arista, and/or Nokia in production environments
In-depth knowledge of network topologies and core infrastructures, particularly architectures such as MPLS/VPLS, VXLAN, IPv6, and data center interconnects
Familiarity with firewall and load balancer vendors, as well as their implementation and management
Ideally, experience with CI/CD pipelines and the application of GitOps practices in a networking context
